Shedrick Forbes

Biography

Coach Shedrick brings more than two decades of coaching and playing experience to Hummingbird Volleyball Club, with a background that spans Canada, the United States, and The Bahamas. His coaching journey has taken him across multiple levels of the game, where he has developed athletes and teams with a focus on both performance and personal growth.

As a player, Shedrick competed at every level of high-performance volleyball—from high school and club to university competition in Florida. He went on to represent The Bahamas as a member of the Senior Men's National Team for ten years, gaining international experience and a deep understanding of elite competition.

Currently, Coach Shedrick serves as the Head Coach of the Hummingbird Ignite 16U Girls team, a group he has led for the past three seasons. Under his leadership, athletes are challenged to grow in skill, mindset, and character while competing at a high level within the Ontario volleyball community.

Coaching Philosophy

Shedrick's coaching philosophy centers on developing confident, disciplined, and resilient athletes. He believes in helping players GROW to be better than yesterday, pursue the game with relentless effort, and Excel beyond their perceived limits. He is committed to creating a positive yet demanding environment where athletes are encouraged to respond to adversity, COMPETE with purpose, and reach their full potential both on and off the court.
